FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

Your spa treatments are reserved especially for you. We value your business and ask that you respect the spa's scheduling policies. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Any cancellations or rescheduling with less than 24 hours of notice are subject to a cancellation fee amounting to the cost of the scheduled service, NO MATTER THE REASON OF CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULE! Clients who miss their appointments without giving any prior notification will be charged in full for the scheduled service. We recognize the time of our clients and staff is valuable and have implemented this policy for this reason. When you miss an appointment with us, we not only lose your business, but also the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time. Additionally, many times our staff will be functioning in an "on call" status and can have traveled to the spa specifically for your service. For these reasons we are obligated to compensate our staff for their time as well as make up for the lost revenue. When you schedule your appointment with us, you are agreeing to these policies. All services require a credit card or gift certificate to guarantee a reservation so please have your credit card and/or gift certificate ready when booking. You will not be billed unless there is a cancellation or no show. Upon checkout, guests may choose their method of payment. In the event that the credit card transaction is declined, the client will be responsible for paying the balance prior to booking any future services at Therapeutix Mind & Body. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

If you are late to your appointment, we will try our best to accommodate with however much time is left but you will be charged the full service price. If you are more than 15 minutes late, it will be considered a no show and be charged at 100% of the service price.

If you have multiple appointments scheduled, the 24 hour cancellation policy applies to each individual appointment. Thus, you must give 24 hours notice even if keeping one appointment.

SPA PACKAGE POLICY

Our massage and esthetic packages are available to provide you with the ongoing self care that you want - at a great rate!
* Each package is 100% transferrable - meaning any one you deem fit can use it! If you want to bring a family member or friend in with you and gift them a session, you can! They are also transferrable within the same family of modalities (i.e. you can use a Swedish massage package to pay for a deep tissue, you'll just be responsible for the difference at the end of the package.)
* They never expire! You can use them as quick or as little as you'd like! They will also always be honored at the price you purchase them at.
* We are HSA and FSA approved! The Health Savings Accounts only pay for massage packages. It is a great way to spend that pre tax money at the end of the year!
* Our packages are NON REFUNDABLE. They are transferrable within the spa but are non refundable to cash.

GROUP POLICY

Here at Therapeutix Mind & Body we love to accommodate groups! Creating a fun spa day for a girl's night out, bachelorette party or even a princess party for your little one is one of our greatest joys!
However, when booking a group of 4 or more people, we do require a 50% NON REFUNDABLE deposit to guarantee your time and date. This is collected at the time of booking and will be used when the services are redeemed.
We also require a 7 day notice (valid business days) for cancellation or reschedule to avoid a 100% charge.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY SESSION?

You can expect a competent and professional session each time you come for an appointment. You will be treated with respect and dignity regardless of your age, gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, etc. Your privacy and confidentiality will be maintained at all times. You will be draped with a sheet or towel at all times during the session. Only parts of the body being worked on are exposed at any time. The genitals are never exposed or massaged.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY SESSION?

We ask that you have arrived for your appointment clean, having showered the same day as the treatment. You have not eaten a heavy meal or worked out less than two hours prior to the treatment

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY SESSION?

We suggest loose, comfortable clothing. You will be asked to dress down to your comfort level during the session.

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR A MATERNITY MASSAGE

In a traditional massage, you might spend half the time lying face-down on your stomach (which is not possible with a baby belly) and half the time facing up (a position that puts pressure on a major blood vessel that can disrupt blood flow to your baby and leave you feeling nauseous). So here at Therapeutix we offer side lying. Pregnancy massage may help relieve some of the aches and pains of pregnancy. But it does have some risks; it isn't suitable for every person or every pregnancy. Since the 1st trimester is high risk for miscarriage we err on the side of caution and only massage during your 2nd and 3rd trimester.

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR A SPRAY TAN

Please shower at least 24 hours before your session. We recommend shaving and LIGHT exfoliation to get the best results. Make sure to moisturize the skin AFTER shaving but at least 24 hours prior to your session. (Especially the elbows, knees, etc.)
Wear light, loose clothing to your session. Avoid wearing a bra.
Please don't wear deodorant, lotion, or any other skin care products on the day of your tan.
Sugar waxing is fine to do prior and is a great tool for exfoliation.
If you don't mind the tan lines, you can bring your own swimming suit. It will get the spray on it but it will wash out.

HOW TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR TAN

Avoid any activity that would cause sweating for 24 hours.
Shower no sooner than 4 hours and no later than 24 hours.
Use oil free cleansers and lotions. Oil will removed the tan.
Moisturize twice daily with an oil free moisturizer.
Avoid bandages, fashion tape, etc as these will remove the tan.
Don't cross your legs as the tan could transfer and rub off. (During the first 24 hours.)
Don't exfoliate until you're ready to say goodbye to your tan.
